Du Jiang Yan & Qing Cheng Shan!

Hi guys! we had an excursion to Du Jiang Yan and Mount Qing Cheng Shan! First stop was to Du Jiang Yan. Its the oldest dam built in the history of China. It was built in 256BC and the reason why the dam was built, was due to floods in Cheng Du. When floods occurred, people in Cheng Du, didn't have enough food to eat and suffered. Li Bing, a governor decided to built a dam to prevent floods from happening. Ever since the dam was built, floods no longer occurred and many looked up to him. It has was then the oldest dam built in history and it still stands. I'm surprised by the stress it could take, as the dam had undergone warring periods and natural disasters such as earthquakes. Though maintenance is being carried out every year, I suggest that some parts of the dam should be replaced, as they may be old and might give way anytime.

After lunch, we visited mount Qing Cheng Shan. It was a sacred place for Taoist. The mountain wasn't high,  and cable car service was also available. My friends and I decided to climb to the top of the mountain, and what I saw were huge Taoist temples being built one after another, as though the whole mountain was filled with temples! We took some pictures before heading back to school. I'm glad that I'm given a chance to visit such places as it brings out the peaceful atmosphere, and makes me feel relax. Alright, I guess that's about it, I've to to sleep now. Sweet dreams!
