Wonder boys |
It was at the dimple light of dawn, and we had to get up early so as not to miss sunrise. We had planned to reach at the top of the mountain to watch sunrise, and everyone had to gather at 5.30 in the morning for breakfast. There was a bus station that would drive us up to the top of the mountain, however, upon arriving the bus station, it was filled with crowds of people. Tourist lined up in long queues so as to board the bus quickly, and some were lucky enough to reach the top of the mountain first. Unfortunately, we were not given the privilege to watch sunrise, as we weren't lucky enough to board the bus first. We waited for 30 minutes before boarding the bus to drive us up the mountain. The ride up the mountain was a bumpy one, as the roads had curves and sharp corners. I had a slight headache and felt a little nausea after alighting the bus. The snow on the ground made it slippery, so we had to purchase a pair of cane slippers so as to prevent us from slipping. With our walking sticks and cane strapped on slippers for our shoes, we made our way up the mountain.

Snow ball! |
It was my first time seeing snow, and I felt a little excited when I touched it with my bare hands. As we pressed on, monkeys were seen, as they swing from one branch to another, and some were seen feasting on snacks. I find them cute as some tourist manage to take a picture with them, and I wasn't so lucky to do so. We made our way to the cable car station and along the way, there were many beautiful scenic areas and had to join a long queue to get on to the cable cars.

The monkey ignored me! |
However, there are some uncivilised tourist who cut queue in front of others, and some minor disputes began. I guess that is normal for the people of China. The view from the cable car was fantastic and I'm happy to get a few shots from the cable car. Upon arriving the top of the mountain, we had a light snack and visited the golden Buddha statue.

Love locks! |
While walking up a flight of stairs, I saw love locks were hung along the rail of the stairway, and I wanted to get one of it. To my disappointment, it was no longer on sale. The Buddha statue is said to be the biggest statue on a mountain. I'm also fantasized by how this giant Buddha was built given its old technology.

I am King! |
After a few hours of trekking on a mountain, it was time to head back to school. The bus journey from Emei to school was a long one as it took approximately 4 hours. Most of us were dead beat, and slept on the bus, others still have the thriving energy in them, and carried on chatting among themselves. I'm happy to be given an opportunity to visit such a fantastic and wonder place this weekend, and I wish to come back here to visit if given a chance. I'm going to turn in now after a long day. Good night.
